IPAAM is pleased to announce a new name for its performing ensembles:

Sumunar Indonesian Music and Dance

The Performing Ensembles include:

Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble
Sumunar Dance Ensemble
Sumunar Youth Ensemble (Gamelan and/or Dance)

These ensembles frequently perform together in various combinations. Sumunar is an Indonesian word meaning "glowing, brilliant light," one that illuminates and warms the soul.

June 25: The Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble will perform at Minnehaha Falls Park, in south Minneapolis. More information.

Classes in Javanese Gamelan and Indonesian Dance
IPAAM invites you to learn the music and dance of Indonesia. Classes are taking a break for the summer, but will resume in the fall. Please check back here for more information, including dates, locations, and registration information.

Membership
Get discounts on gamelan CDs and Indonesian home furnishings, and free passes to IPAAM classes by becoming a member of the Indonesian Performing Arts Association of Minnesota.

Hiring the Gamelan and Dancers
IPAAM gamelan and dance groups are available to perform at large and small functions, from public events, to private parties. We can create an ensemble and program appropriate to your needs.
